BowlSpot.com

About Us

BowlSpot.com today provides technological services to our partners within the bowling industry. In addition to providing website programming and infrastructure, we provide assistance with video production and streaming.

BowlSpot.com was created in 2007 from the combination of several bowling websites I was operating. I decided to shut down the individual websites and create a centralized location for everything. Once again in 2012 this is happening again as BowlSpot hybridizes with InsideBowling.com.

Our Growing Team

Brian Burkhardt

Role:
Owner of BowlSpot.com and Programmer/Webmaster of partner websites.

Bio:
I grew up on the outskirts of St. Louis in Villa Ridge MO. My grandfather built Pacific Lanes which my father operated as the family business for 42 years. The bowling center was sold in 2003 and like many older mom and pop centers, has closed its doors waiting to be demolished or repurposed as something other than a bowling. Of course I started bowling as early as I could pick up a ball and try to find the time to still bowl.

I attended UMSL college, graduating with a BS in Criminal Justice. I also minored in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Computer Science. During that time I also attended schooling for the fire service. Furthermore, I was involved in the volunteer fire service as a fire Captain, EMT-D, and completed my certifications for State Fire Inspector and Investigator.

As I was pursuing a career in the criminal justice field as an investigator, I was building websites on the side for fun. I ended up getting picked up by a consultant agency and assigned to Southwestern Bell as a web developer. Southwestern Bell hired me as a full time employee. Southwestern Bell is not AT&T for which I am a Senior Technical Architect/Senior Developer for a variety of projects.

Interests:
Bowling, anything technology, Canada fishing, raising my new daughter and son.

Mike Flanagan

Role:
President/CEO of Insidebowling.com

Bio:
I've lived in St. Louis, Missouri my entire life except one year spent in Salt Lake City, Utah during the 2002 Winter Olympics while managing a center for Brunswick. I have been working in the bowling industry since 1995 and currently work for myself as a bowling center consultant in the St. Louis market. I successfully execute proven marketing strategies as well as create new custom programs at each venue. InsideBowling.com has allowed me the opportunity to do much more than I could have ever imagined within the bowling industry. I have strong relationships with nearly every major player in bowling and have also been a part of PBA's Xtra Frame online bowling channel as a guest commentator/producer. Running events, talking bowling, and increasing awareness of bowling is my love and passion. I do public speaking engagements, presentations, and coach bowling as well in my spare time. I attended All Souls Grade School, Vianney High School, and attended a variety of colleges with Lindenwood University being the last. I welcome all emails and enjoy meeting new bowlers!

Doug Lakey

Role:
InsideBowling.com show Co-Host, Human Resource Director, and Marketing Consultant for insidebowling.com / peteweberbowling.com.

Bio:
Born and raised in O'Fallon Mo, bowling has always been "mixed in," to my life, since I was a chipper 3rd grader at Dardenne Elementary. While lettering in Football and Baseball during my days at Fort Zumwalt North High, I worked at O'Fallon Bowl, and I always knew bowling should come first! So much so, that it didn't stop me from hounding administrators, starting, recruiting, captaining and co-captaining the Lindenwood Bowling program up until I graduated in 2003 (all while being on a football and baseball scholarship?). I attained my degree in Human Resource Mgmt / Business Administration, and have tried to stay involved with the bowling community as much as possible while managing my personal and career livelihood's across various industries (outside of the bowling world unfortunately). I worked for Brunswick out of college, ran a pro shop in Evansville Indiana, and "once" signed my name in a PBA program as a professional bowler, and when I thought it was over, insidebowling.com came calling! Currently, my wife Amy and I reside in O'Fallon Missouri and I work for Krey Distributing under the Anheuser Busch family of distributorships.
