In today's modern bowling game, static weights have very little impact on bowling ball reaction.
| Positive Side Weight (RH) | Negative Side Weight (RH) |
Positive side weight is created when there is more weight on the hooking side of the ball.
Typically this is created by shifting the Center of Gravity (CG) to the hooking side of the ball.
The USBC maximum limit is 1 ounce.
Negative side weight is created when there is more weight on the non hooking side of the ball.
Typically this is created by shifting the Center of Gravity (CG) to the non hooking side of the ball.
The USBC maximum limit is 1 ounce.

| Finger Weight | Thumb Weight |
Finger weight is created when more weight is shifted towards the finger holes of the ball.
The USBC limit is 1 ounce.

| |
| Top Weight | Bottom Weight |
Top weight is created from the weight block being shifted within the ball. The CG markes where the top weight is the heaviest.
