Axis Tilt Calculation

Axis tilt is the angle on the vertical plane the bowling ball is rotating around. This is also knows as the positive axis point (PAP). If your axis is pointing up, that would be 90 degrees of tilt.

Method 1

First place a piece of contrasting tape on your positive axis point.
Then by either having somebody watch your release or using a video recorder throw a shot. At the point of release determine your tilt by the position of the tape.

Method 2

If you want a more accurate reading, have your pro shop measure your track diameter by using a Pro-Sec measuring tool. Then enter the diameter into the correct formula, such as below.
