Bowling Lanes
Bowling lanes consist of 39 boards. Although most lanes today are synthetic, lanes used to be made of maple and pine wood.
There are 7 arrows on the lane at approximately 15 feet. These arrows are the most common target used by bowlers. They mark the lane
off in 5 board icrements. For right handers they are read from right to left. Therefore, the first arrow is the 5th board. The center
arrow is the 20th board.
